The Incongruity Theory of Humor
Kant and Schopenhauer subscribe to an incongruity theory of humor. Another sort of view about what makes things funny is Thomas Hobbs, the superiority theory of laughter. Then there are some like Freudian psychologists takes about relief and humor. The reason that we find things funny is because we've evolved to evolutionarily in certain ways to enjoy social cohesion with other people.
