Sometimes it does make sense to just straight up monkey patch something, especially if it's like a package you don't see yourself needing to change anytime soon. Sometimes you just got to use TS ignore. Like if you're just hitting a problem and you need to get past it or maybe sometimes the types are wrong or weird. I'm proud to say what I did a command F for TS ignore in my entire project and there are zero instances of TS ignored in my entire code base. So shout out to me for that one.
In this episode of Syntax, Wes and Scott talk about their respective processes for converting JavaScript to TypeScript in their projects, why you might want to, and tooling for moving to TypeScript.
