Ephesus was the leading city in the richest region in the Roman Empire. People from all over the world came there to live, which created a lot of racial and religious tension. There are over 50 different gods who had temples represented in Ephesus. We live in a very multi-ethnic place. One of the largest Mormon temples south of DC is right here in Raleigh, Durham.
