Colosystostomy Tubes for Colonystitis

Some patients will actually develop colosystitis with the absence of gallstones. And you generally only see that in patients who are critically ill in the ICU. They often are too sick to have their gallbladder removed. That's what we call acyndicalingitis. You need to address these patients very quickly. So this is when you hear of that therapy called acolosystostomy tube, where IR will actually put a draining tube into their gallbladders so they can relieve inflammation and infection within it.
