The Importance of Timing Share Buybacks
It's a frequent criticism that management teams are notoriously bad at timing their share buybacks. If you've got excess recache flow, and it gets back to your earlier point, if you don't have a good use for it now, give it back now. Don't sit on it and wait for a better time to buy back the stock cheaper. It's really, really hard to tell when a stock is approaching a peak and turning lower or when it's at a trough and about to turn higher.
