Is Security the Foundational Concept of Liberalism?
i think the book does a really nice job of framing this for us, like, after september eleventh, we get all these invocations of, like, oh, this is a state of emergency. Is an exceptional situation. Of course, wer goin to ha tabrogate certain rights. And i think likeneocleus claim is that security is the one of these concepts that's absolute. Like, we have freedoms, we have rights, sure, but those will get suspended or actaliated or curtailed or restricted or limited in reference to security.
