Facebook's FOMO

Facebook's FOMO is fear of missing out where they see something that they're not currently working on. They've very masterfully had an M&A strategy to to kind of make sure that they stay on top and don't act like the social network of social networks of years past. It took them all the way until 2012 to be taken seriously as a mobile company, 84 plus percent of their revenue comes from from mobile advertising. Facebook can't afford a four year lag before starting to play on a platform and turning the company to be centrally oriented around that platform when everybody's on it.
