The Fire at Imperial Food Products
Employees of Imperial Food Products reported to work on Tuesday, September 3, 1991. The entire plant was engulfed in flames in less than two minutes. 81 people were working in the Imperial factory that morning. There was no sprinkler system or anything else to slow it down. Lily Davis says she accepted her fate and began to pray for a good ending.
