The Power of a Long Form Narrative

I think of the novel as being a record of my growth, both as a human and as a writer during the period that I was walking on it. It's another way of like what Joan Didion said about keeping in touch with the person that you used to be. You know, this is my thoughts and feelings aged 24 to 33. They're all there. And who knows, maybe I'll read this book in in 10 or 20 years after having more experience and part of me will feel compelled to write some version of it again based on what I've learned in that time.
