There's not separate nature from society as found in classical Western dualism. And that sort of perspective is necessary if we were to move beyond the exploitation of nature. We can't exactly expect everybody to move to the countryside, nor should everybody. The idea of development is an almost zombie category, as some writers have described it. It's supposed to be dead, and yet it lives.
