The Industrial Core of the Late 19th Century

The United States is part of the industrial core that had developed in the late 19th century. That stretch right there is where the industry was really concentrated. The traditional way you made a living on a small farm as a craftsman was disappearing on you. People who lived on farms, say in Kansas or down in Mississippi started to move to the center.
