In november 20 19, a friend from high school messaged me to see if i had heard about him. He passed away in his sleep in early november. I wished him a happy birthday every year via facebook messenger, despite the estrangement. The last time i messaged him to wish him happy birthday was january 20 nineteenth. At his funeral, i learned from his step sister that he had broken up with his girl friend because she was abusing him. Despite their broken relationship, he was still trying to help her with her mental health. It's just the kind of guy he was.
