What's the Difference Between a Novel and an Essay?
It feels like Fox in many ways challenges the notion of a novel or the form of the novel so you talk about how it's not novelistic in many ways. Some parts feel more like essay than novel and then on top of that there are parts that feel almost like we're reading scholarly or academic work. In the US this would be considered avant-garde or on the margins of the literary scene and I wondered if that's also true in in Central Europeor whether there is a stronger lineage of this sort of troubling of what the novel form is.
