The Challenges for Nanotechnology
The scale of the problem is immense. We need to be removing something like 10 to 20 gigatons of greenhouse gases from our atmosphere in order to have a hope of moving toward net zero future. And it requires that our technologies can come down the cost curve because at the minute, they are very costly. Making these nanomaterials on the scale that we need to make them is a challenge. There is no policy nor legislation in New South Wales to actually use this technology. So that gives you just a flavour of some of the challenges, not just at the nanoscale, but also at the socio-political and economic scale.
