The Teacher Must Have a Human Ideal

When a thing lives, something comes of this life. The greeks began with the physical human standing there before them. We must learn again to see people as unified whole human beings. It is not enough for children to take in these thoughts passively. They must guide them as they go out into the world as unified human beings. For we must educate unified human beings whose physical education is a continuation of what we gave them in the class room.
