The Benefits and Obstacles to an Interdisciplinarity Approach in the Social Sciences

The benefits to somebody like me are pretty obvious. As I said, human nature is one and indivisible. And if we only study human nature through a particular lens, we're always going to miss all of these other aspects. We should be driven by our questions, not by our methods. That's the most important thing for me. In academia, you often have people who are asking the same question but because they never collaborate, they never even talk to each other. Each one of them applies whatever method they've been pre trained to to apply to everything. Most of the time by definition, this will be the wrong method.
