Pahrick wants the donkey to hang out in the house because he's sad and because he loves the donkey. And his sister wants the donkey out of the house because she is a normal, intelligent human being. In fact, once his sister leaves, he just lets all the animals into the house and the house is overrun with animals. So you're not even noticing that a relationship is being built. But Martin McDonough is noticing. He's building that relationship for a reason because he needs to take this place, this piece to the place that you didn't see.
