Terawatt is part of a land grab heating up as companies seek to stake out charging stations for future commercial fleets. Private companies have pledged more than $16 billion to build charging infrastructure for fleets and private cars in North America over the next decade or so. A group of nine utilities in three western US states have plotted out a path of 27 charging stations for medium and heavy duty vehicles along Interstate 5, a first site opened in Portland in 2021.
