The Word Cosmos in the New Testament
The word cosmos has at least three meanings in the new testament. Sometimes it just means planet earth, as in romans one 20. Other times it means humanity, as in john three 16. Clearly what jesus has in mind here is humanity as a whole. Whoever does the will of god lives forever.
