Are Tax Cuts Enough?
Tax cuts can't have a role to play in this, says Louis Sacheluk. Liz truss dislikes the word hand out either to businesses or individuals. She thinks it's not conservative and that is a perfectly legitimate point of view. But if you cut taxes, then only the wealthiest people will benefit from them. And so yes, not a hand out, but you are going to attract some pretty toxic headlines when every pound really matters with public finances.
