In high school and during the summer, I paid my way through college working in kitchens. And that's why I actually started to get exposed to real cooking. When I got out of school, I had a degree in Spanish literature, which is about the only thing it really prepares you for. But yeah, at the time, even early on when I was working in restaurants, I never thought this is a career path.
