Lincoln Detox, a Drug Treatment Center in the Hospital
Lincoln detox became a kind of club house for new york's radical elte when the black liberation army needed medical supplies in 19 71. Its volunteers included michael sedaweo taber and athena shior of the panther 21, brian flannagan from the weather underground. It was an article of faith among many militants that the plague of drugs was a scheme concocted by a white government to oppress blacks. Every adict was given an 86 page pamphlet called the opium trail, heroine and imperialism which claimed armed revoution could cure heroine addiction better than methodone alone.
