#51 Celeste Headlee: The Dying Art of Conversation
The Knowledge Project with Shane Parrish
What Makes for a Good Conversation?
An interview is a formalized structure to conversation. It's not a mutual exchange of information in an interview. You should be thinking about the other person, and very often we're not. If i'm interviewing neil do grast thyson, he doesn't give a good god damn how much i know about astrophysics right? The audience don't care either. They're here there there just so i can ask the questions that allow me to say interesting things. That's different from a conversation,. which should be more balanced and more a mutual every other an interview is the same as a conversation.
