Gallienus' Mobile Cavalry

In the 4th century, gallienus created a single force of mobile cavalry. They would be answer directly to the emperor when there was trouble. Gallienus strategically based this new force in the city of milan where they could keep an eye on posthumus and any germans thinking about crossing through the alps into italy.
