"I just think you look at that and say that perhaps some things become more niche when they meant to become widely adopted," he says. "There's people who clearly are genuinely worried about what they stand to lose if Mastodon becomes more welcoming or more inclusive because what they feel like they have as far as I can tell is genuinely a haven in a world that is largely operated, you know, via some sort of a way of surveillance,. right? And so I feel a lot of empathy."
