Lung Transplantation - A Life Story

Jacki suffered from idiopathic pulmonary hypertension, a rare progressive disease where the vessels in the lungs shrink and oxygen is not distributed properly. In two thousand eight, at 32, jacki received a double lung transplant. The surgery was successful but her body began to reject her new lungs. Before long, jackie was back in the hospital, this time in switzerland, waiting for another lung transplant.
