The Caucus for Women in STEM and STEAM

There had never been a caucus addressing women in STEM and STEAM. I tried to ask for the caucus to be not just women, but everybody who's not necessarily in the breath when you say STEM fields. The idea that we would restrict people to just having liberal arts degrees is particularly asinine because of what we're asking our professionals in state department amongst other places like their community. And they are being asked to be in places where the skills of a STEM or STEAM degree could be useful whether it's biosecurity and biotechnology. We can address these kinds of disparities through legislative action and also through the other actions that Congress is allowed to undertake.
