The Cost of Net Zero
MPs didn't realise what it meant, what the implications would be. They were just relying on this £1 trillion figure that the Climate Change Committee had fed them. It seemed to be pretty well off the top of their heads when the Treasury tried to calculate a cost for net zero refused. So we can't do it. Too many unknowns, too many technologies which haven't been invented or scaled up. You can't know how we're going to achieve it. But it seems to me, a high point of idiocy, is committing yourself to a target which you don't actually know how you're going to achieved or what cost?
