The Bay Area Giants Are Underdogs, Right?

Would it be heresy to just jump to the giants and snaw the bay area? I feel like there's not as much animosity in that as there is in other intracity rivalries. And i don't know if they're under dog in the same way that the as are, but they are kind of under dogs in that division. So with the universal d h now in effect, is this going to hurt our ability to standardize stats across eras? What will the elimination of pitcher batting do to those stats?
