Inflation is the driver of the fed's new more hawkish position. It's inflation that is driving this forward pathway for rate hikes. The consensus is for six additional increases, potentially coming in 50 basis point increases. So as prices continue to rise, be that lingering pressures the supply chain disridens, or new upward pressures from the russian ukrane conflict, that is going to determine the pathway forward for the federal funds.
