Fierce compassion can be used as a motivator and encourage people to succeed. Fear of failure is our best teacher when we learn from it, says the author. It's not ok if you don't succeed - that doesn't mean you don't want to succeed. Some people make the mistake of thinking that self compassion is just about acceptance. And so i'm but some people who think they have to hate themselves or blame themselves for their own failures in order to feel less like an imperfect human being. We're only able to see ourselves clearly when we are jst hanging full of shame over what we've failed to achieve.
