The History of the Pride Flag
The assassination of Harvey Milk helped to proliferate the Pride flag's popularity. When mass production happened in 1979, the flag had to be revised because there were a few colours that couldn't be sourced for whatever reason. So turquoise and hot pink just got perched entirely. And then indigo was replaced with basic blue because it was easier to find. I used to think there was must be some really scandalous reason that two strikes got removed. It wasn't. It was just the guys and fabrics were hard to find.
