Lyrics were hastily rewritten in the studio to remove controversial drug references. This caused some conflict between Barrett and Waters, with Waters pushing for the change while Barrett argued against it. Some people even argue that there was another lyric change, where Barrett sings, Walk With Me, there's a slight F sound in his vocal. As someone who does a lot of microphone work myself, it sounds to me like just one of those things that happens while recording. The A side meanwhile, was inspired by real life.
