Is the European Union Sufficient?

I was meeting with a colleague yesterday from the Royal United Services Institute in London and they've got all kinds of ideas that they're kind of thinking about. I mean it sounds to me almost like what you're hinting at is there needs to be multilateral multinational entities that aren't entirely based on the US because it has a compromised reputation now. The obvious one if we're talking about European security is the European Union surely doesn't just have to be the European Union, he says.
