The Role of Music in Baby Sleep

Some of these babies were just a few hours old when they were exposed to the tunes. Emma's has a theory for why they reacted in the way they did. It might be in a very good entrainment with the very fast psychophysiological rhythm. A baby's heartbeat is around 120 per minute and the respiratory rate is also very high between 30 and 60 per minute so it's not surprising that the fast music with its fast tempo might be more entrained with their own very fast rhythm.
