There is definitely a master servant relationship through to the end. I feel like sam sort of becomes more phroto's equal as they go i think so too. The few other characters that do appear in book four are galaman, shagrat and gorbag. gallum especially he's there to kind of be a foil for his narrative role. In short, we'll just get a little early tastewheel into book four from later this year.
