The Importance of Local Tissue Health in Running

It's a misconception by many endurance runners of most levels, beginners through to sub-elite and even elite, recreationally competitive and recreational that running alone, so that sport specific activity, confers tissue health. I often say when they've developed a calf strainer and Achilles tend an opathy or a plantar fascia challenge, shouldn't my calves be strong enough? So I guess that's an example of why this paper is important.
