Do you think that a sign of a culture being cut off from that line of nourishment sometimes expresses itself in obsession with preserving that culture? Absolutely. One of the things that occurs to me is that people have this misconception that there was a time when their culture was fixed, when it wasn't changing and simulating all sorts of influences. It never was that. So why would it be that now? Why would it stop changing now? Exactly. To restore it to this original vitality is very, very, very difficult. That's one of the things they examine in the last gift of the Master Artist. Who fixes it? Why do they do that?
