Noah appears as this strange figure that seems to be able to bridge Cain and Seth because he takes techno and he uses it to survive the flood. There are a lot of other interesting similarities that go deeper on the connection between Grandel and his mother and the giants of the Old Testament. Beowulf poet very clearly understands the flood as being mainly God's judgment against the race of the giants, which is a common ancient Christian understanding regardless of whether or not you believe in a set-light hypothesis.
