The History of Tiger Electronics
Tiger Electronics was founded in 1978 by Roger Schiffman and Randy Rissman, who originally just planned to market record players. By 1985, they had pivoted to a line of hand-held video games. Tiger Handhelds were quite a bit cheaper than Game Boy and its competitors, coming in at just 20 bucks. The other big reason for their success was the fact that Tiger licensed just about every major property from TV shows and movies to sports stars.
