Is This a Movement That Is Deeply, Deeply Skeptic of Washington?

The method that has been used historically to amend the constitution is one that really requires the intervention of congress. There is an alternative that relies on two thirds of the states calling a constitutional convention, where amendments can be debated and then subsequently ratified by three fourths of the states. No american under 30 has seen the constitution amended at all in their lifetimes. A very organized segment of conservatives are now pushing this with some powerful backers,. And it's kind of what we saw with the tea party, right, the strategy of enacting the policy ofgenda in state legislatures instead of taking that power back from washington.
