The Importance of Imagination

Lust is "the very opposite of medicine, she leads with pleasure and ends with pain," says the Bible. The man who follows her path walks as vulnerable as a stag seen from the other side of a bow, writes Proverbs 7. To get to her, he will have to climb into his grave, but in purity God made the imagination for more than grim warnings: it must look past apparent beauty of lust or homeliness of obedience.
