In contrast for a cesarean delivery, instead of just trying to provide sensory pain relief and retention and motor function, we are trying to create intraoperative conditions that are suitable for a major interest. And so with normal patients, we can be a little bit loose and aggressive and get these patients real comfortable real quick. Even with labor analgesia, where the sympathetic to me risk is lower, you really want to avoid the big, rapid doses of interthical, local, and aesthetic. I probably wouldn't do that for somebody who had some kind of congenital heart defect.
