The Markets Are Still Aware, but I Feel Sorry for the Prime Minister
The pound has gone up a little bit since the new chancellor came in and all the undoing has taken effect, not dramatically. Fund yields have fallen a bit, but are still way higher than they were before the original mini budget. The stock market, the FTSE 100 at least is up, but again, still lower than it was before all this happened. So I think yes, it has come the markets to a degree. And of course, you never know what the other situation would have been. But we've ended up in this bizarre situation where someone was elected saying they were going to do something, they did it.
