If you start at the entrance and stick to it, you will never actually start following an island wall. You're turning a maze into a unicursal pathway where you are just submitting to the design of the maze. But thinking about how to solve mazes also got me a thinking about another tangent here,. The maze became almost a physical emblem of the discipline of psychology. And popular cult like especially the behavior at schools.
