Is Your Moderator Sucking?
If your x variable is measured with error, well, guess what? The duct is going to suck. And your power to detect some kind of slope associated with that product term is going down the toilet. That's a huge problem for understanding moderation. Even if you don't have the unreliability, very often your effect sizes are terribly small and so you have very low power anyway.
