Can You Treat Infections With Antibiotics?

With simple effusions, you can treat that with just antibiotics. In general, though, if it's an infected space, it needs to be cleaned out. The pH is playing into this how? If the pH is less than 7.2, then you generally think that it is likely an infected space and you would want to make sure that it's drained.
