The Importance of Religious Freedom in the Revolution
In 1906, Mozaffar Shah appointed Mushir Adalay as the prime minister and convenes a constituent national assembly without firing a shot. In 1979, protesters occupied the British legation in Tehran to demand an Islamic parliament. The protests were peaceful but eventually turned violent when shots were fired at them.
