The History of the Samaritans

The Samaritans is the world's oldest and also most used suicide hotline. In its earliest moment, there are trained 50 volunteers to meet the demands for help over the phone. Since the 1950s, there have been hotlines and dial-as-something services for pretty much everything you can imagine. Even Big Jim Voss started one: 1-800-HIT-HOME.
