The Inner Wall of a Brock
This was where a wooden door would have rested during the Iron Age. The timber drawer bar doesn't survive down to the present day, but you can still see where it would have been housed more than 2000 years ago. Once you emerge out of the entrance way, you would find yourself in the heart of the brooch. Imagine a wide open inside area. This would have been where the hearth was, the central fire. This would be the centre of the bro Coch with human activity happening all around animals placed in the lower levels. To reach these higher levels, many brocks had staircases. And that's right. These brocks were multi-story and we have evidence for that
